I have a few Winter wedding's coming up and I'm starting to think about what to wear. My wardrobe seems to be lacking anything suitable and it's notoriously tricky to find wedding attire which will keep you warm and still stylish.
I have always harboured a deep love of velvet, there is something about a velvet dress which is so effortlessly sexy and classic at the same time, plus it is the perfect nod to the 90's. Luckily for me there is a huge amount of velvet around this season and I think it's the perfect solution for a Winter wedding outfit.
Simple and sexy the silk slip is currently having a bit of a moment. Whether layered over a knit, on it's own, or under an over sized coat it looks amazing. For a wedding I would steer clear of anything which looks too much like lingerie or white. Navy, black or emerald tones would look best and always dress it down slightly - you don't want to out shine the bride. Reformation has some great options which aren't too expensive either.
Paired with a chunky knit or cashmere jumper, the statement skirt can be the perfect balance of comfort and style. I have a silver sequinned skirt I brought in the sale from Zadig & Voltaire a few seasons ago and I wear it every winter with a different jumper. Don't be afraid to wear slightly clashing colours or shoes, the more unexpected the better.
